Role Overview
GitLab is seeking a Business Development Representative (BDR) to support our growing Sales organization. This role focuses on generating pipeline and qualifying opportunities within a defined Northeast U.S. territory, working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams.
As a BDR, you will be on the front lines of GitLab’s growth—engaging prospective customers, identifying opportunities, and introducing organizations to GitLab’s AI-powered DevSecOps platform.
What You’ll Do
- Execute outbound prospecting strategies to generate qualified meetings and pipeline
- Identify and develop new logo and expansion opportunities within assigned accounts
- Conduct discovery conversations to understand customer needs and qualify opportunities
- Generate and progress Sales Accepted Opportunities (SAOs)
- Research accounts to identify key stakeholders, buying signals, and business challenges
- Execute multi-channel outreach campaigns (email, phone, social, etc.) using Outreach
- Maintain accurate pipeline and activity tracking in Salesforce
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams on account strategy and campaigns
- Participate in regional events and marketing initiatives to drive pipeline growth
- Document best practices and contribute to continuous improvement of BDR processes
What You’ll Bring
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a high-volume outreach workflow while staying organized
- Proven persistence, curiosity, and self-motivation
- Experience using Salesforce, Outreach, or similar sales tools
- Understanding of business processes and organizational structures
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, remote-first environment
- Prior experience in sales, business development, or technology is a plus
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in SaaS, DevOps, or DevSecOps
- Familiarity with enterprise or mid-market sales cycles
- Background in marketing, sales development, or technical sales
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $71,400 – $105,000 USD
- Eligible for performance-based incentive compensation
