The Role
Halcyon is hiring a Business Development Representative (BDR) to help drive pipeline growth in one of cybersecurity’s fastest-growing segments. You’ll be on the front lines of the fight against ransomware—engaging CISOs and senior technology leaders, creating new opportunities, and supporting revenue growth.
This role is ideal for someone looking to launch or accelerate a sales career in cybersecurity while working in a high-impact, high-growth startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prospecting & Outreach
- Generate outbound pipeline through calls, emails, LinkedIn, and industry events
- Engage mid-market and enterprise security leaders across target accounts
Discovery & Qualification
- Connect with decision-makers to uncover security challenges
- Align Halcyon’s ransomware prevention value proposition to customer needs
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Account Executives and Marketing on campaigns, events, and ABM initiatives
CRM & Pipeline Hygiene
- Maintain accurate activity, contact, and opportunity data in Salesforce
Market & Industry Awareness
- Stay current on ransomware trends, cybersecurity threats, and competitor activity to add value in conversations
Requirements
- 1+ year of experience in sales or business development (SaaS or cybersecurity preferred)
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- High resilience, persistence, and a growth mindset
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
- Experience with Salesforce and modern sales tools (Salesloft, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, Gong, etc.)
- Genuine interest in cybersecurity and building a long-term sales career
Compensation
- Base Salary: $50,000–$70,000
- On-Target Earnings (OTE): $80,000–$100,000 (base + variable commission)
